Really...Last Time was on March 7th?
Very quick breakdown with details to come. We did another bridal show and things are picking up with that. Visited the Erickson's in Idaho and saw their beautiful new home. Congrats! Went to San Diego for a vacation, way to cold for that week (low 60's). Started and still working on finishing the closet in the third bedroom upstairs. Trying to raise Ryder (wow, he's a handful but we LOVE him soo much).
I'm sure I've forgotten a few things but we'll dive into the details hopefully sooner than later.

Baby Steps
Allstar is doing the 'Drunken Sailor' walk! He's not steady yet, but he can take 5-10 steps at a time! His crawl has now turned into a knee & foot crawl. Hopefully he'll get himself up all the way soon! He is such a cutie.
My sister took this video at work on her iphone. She named it Gangsta Walking bc of his "pants." I waited too long to change his diaper [crazy day] so pee soaked through his jeans. He crawls around everywhere, and the office has that industrial carpet, not soft, so I put his legs through his jacket arms and zipped it up a little to keep that over his legs, protecting his knees! So it looks like he's got a long crotch {it's a hood crotch}, like a gangsta...enjoy.

Working Reality
It's usually only when I have to make or take a quick phone call that Allstar wants to fuss his loudest! I really do try to be professional most of the time, but I just can't override the background noises! Haha...oh well, I wouldn't have it any other way. So grateful for my job letting me bring the baby, and just be partly here b/w taking care of work and babe.Thursday, December 16, 2010
Instructions for Installing a Husband
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?
Signed, Desperate.
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.exe and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0; program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck Babe! Tech Support
My mom fowarded this in an email to me. Hilarious!! Fortunately, upgrading my boyfriend to husband came almost perfectly, as most of you know. He does have to have a couple faults, because 100% perfect would make it boring.

Things that change life when you have a baby
1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid. [See a reader's perspective in #22, below.]
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body ... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise.
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
And from our readers...
1. "You discover how much there is to say about one tooth."
2. "You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth."
3. "You now know where the sun comes from."
4. "You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shoes that you've been dying to have."
5. "You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers."
6. "You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night."
7. "Silence? What's that?"
8. "You realize that the 15 pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having."
9. "You discover an inner strength you never thought you had."
10. "You no longer rely on a clock — your baby now sets your schedule."
11. "You give parents with a screaming child an 'I-know-the-feeling' look instead of a 'Can't-they-shut-him-up?' one."
12. "Your dog — who used to be your 'baby' — becomes just a dog." [Many readers begged to differ, saying things like, " I disagree with number 12. My dogs are my additional children," "Nothing about previous babies, whether two- or four-legged, changes when a new miracle comes along," "My dog will never be 'just a dog," and "This is sad to me. My cat is still my baby too."]
13. "You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late."
14. "You learn that taking a shower is a luxury."
15. "You realize that you can love a complete stranger."
16. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place. [even more so now]
17. If you didn’t believe in love at first sight before, now you do!
18. You start to appreciate Sesame Street for its intellectual contribution.
19. You have to quit watching the news because you see every story from a mother's perspective and it breaks your heart.
20. You just plain love life more - everything comes together and becomes better because of one tiny person and your love for them.
21. You finally find out the real reason you have those breasts.
22. In response to #2 [above], I'd say that where you were once afraid, you're now fearless. I was always very timid and shy and let myself get walked all over … but now where my kid's concerned, I'll speak my mind and really connect with my inner "b"!
23. The support you get from other people surprises you, because the people giving it are not always the ones you'd expect.
24. Nothing is just yours any longer. You share EVERYTHING!
25. No matter what you've accomplished in life, you look at your child and think, "I've done a GREAT job!"
26. You want to take better care of yourself for your child.
27. You can have the most wonderful conversation using only vowel sounds like "ahhh" and "oooo."

the Spontaneous Hike
Spencer and I still really wanted to hit it this year, knowing our colors most likely won't be great. On a Friday morning Allstar woke up at 6:30 am to eat, so Spencer decided to get up as well and take us on this hike! We made it to the trailhead at 8 am and were up there by 8:45. We were hoping to catch the sunrise, and we would have, but the overcast sky prevented it being seen. As we suspected, most of the Quakies leaves were already gone, but we were able to catch one little forest that was still in yellow bliss. Enojoy our early morning hike! Haha, you can see our early morning eyes.
