the Uintah's

over the 4th of July weekend we took our days off to the Uintah's, specifically Washington Lake. 3 nights and 2.5 days. This was Allstar's 2nd time camping, and for real this time! It was quite a feat, having to take more stuff, our car was packed like tetris, but we made it!! The sleeping was not great, though, making us all tired each day, but of course we trudged on to do the things we wanted to do:

We hiked to Long Lake

we bundled up and strolled around camp
had a great campsite, and were mostly organized!

Got in the fire...well had some great warm fires this time!

and we went on the Canoe. I started out w/him strapped on like this, but then we just stood the backpack up in the middle, and that worked great too.

Allstar wanted to help paddle around the 2nd lake

Oh yea, we roasted our almost stale donuts to warm them up. Yum!

We battled all the mosquitoes and came home w/just a couple for Spencer and I. Allstar somehow escaped with none! Success, hard at times, but we'll keep on going. Hopefully Allstar will learn to love the outdoors like we do, so far so good.
